Among the corridors of the Royal Automobile Museum, where classic cars sparkle, evoking Jordan’s historical memory, a modern scene emerges that surprises the visitor, as if he is coming from a future, advanced time, where the past narrated by silent classic engines blends with the future presented by a modern robot that makes a cup of coffee without any human touch, in a unique convergence between the fragrance of the past and the spirit of innovation.
Across one wing and another inside the Royal Automobile Museum in the Jordanian capital, Amman, an elegant metal arm extends, charting a new path for civilization, between the wings of the museum, where a Chinese-made robot begins to prepare coffee with agility and precision, as if bridging the gap between an established heritage and a steadily advancing technological ambition.

This unusual experience gives the visitor a double journey, during which he summons the spirit of the past, to shake hands with the features of the future at the same moment.
Classic museum
The Royal Museum goes beyond just being an exhibition of classic cars. Rather, it is part of a rich historical environment, which includes vehicles linked to pivotal stations in Jordan’s history, from the cars of the founding King Abdullah I to rare classic vehicles. Amidst this legacy, the robot appears to be a milestone that adds a new dimension to the story, confirming that the future can be a natural part of Amman’s tourist identity.
The Classic Museum represents one of the most prominent cultural and tourist destinations in Jordan, as it combines heritage and history, and its role is not limited to being just a car exhibition, but rather it constitutes an educational platform that highlights the links between technology and national identity.
Future ideas
As for the modern café, the robot’s work goes beyond providing an innovative service, reaching a clear scientific dimension, as those in charge of the café point out that the robot constitutes an experimental model that paves the way for its future uses in tourism and service institutions within the Kingdom.

However, those in charge of the café did not diminish its appeal among visitors, as they confirmed that the project received great interaction and became a touristic addition that enhances the experience of museum visitors, and gives the Royal Museum a new attraction point that encourages visitors to stop, photograph, and wonder about this unique experience.
A unique experience
Visitors and tourists played an essential role in the success of the idea of the automated café, as their reactions and comments turned into a natural means of advertising for the emerging project. Among them was Yahya Al-Bourini, a computer engineer in one of the Gulf countries, who said: “While I was wandering among the classic cars, I felt as if I were living in an ancient historical era, and suddenly I found in front of me a robot making coffee for me without any human intervention, which is a strange feeling that mixes the past and the future in one place.”
Speaking to Al Jazeera Net, he added: “I feel proud that we have something like this in Jordan, which shows that we are progressing and possess the latest technologies,” describing the experience as “encouraging,” noting that the ordering and payment process takes place via an easy-to-use electronic screen.
Technical accuracy
Aside from the impressionistic aspect, the robot relies on a series of precise steps, starting with picking up the cup and placing it on the scale to verify the weight, before moving to the beverage machine that fills the order, then returning to the scale for final verification. These technical details increase the attractiveness of the experience, and turn ordering coffee into moments of viewing and anticipation, especially for children and tourists who document the scene on their phones.
For his part, Abdel-Ilah Al-Sorour from the Marketing Department at the Royal Automobile Museum explained in his interview with Al Jazeera Net that the museum not only tells the story and history of Jordan since its inception, but also reflects the Kingdom’s interest in mixing old and new. Among cars dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century, today the latest technological developments are highlighted through the robot that serves coffee to visitors.
Innovative future
The Royal Automobile Museum not only represents the history of Jordan, but also embraces a unique experience that combines the past and the present, as the robot holds a different thread from the story, confirming that technology is capable of enriching the visitor’s experience and creating a new way of presenting Jordanian heritage.
With this experience, the museum does not just provide an automated coffee service, but rather presents an integrated model that is consistent with a future vision for developing tourism and employing technology in cultural and historical spaces. In a place where the legacy of royal cars meets a modern robotic arm, Amman appears as a city that knows how to look at its future without leaving its memory behind.
